Middletown is joining the Connecticut and global community with Make Music day.

This event started in Paris, France 1982 as a tribute to the summer solstice – solstice d’été.
Each June 21st Paris is filled with musicians of all kinds performing on sidewalks, lawns, balconies, in parks, etc. for anyone to enjoy at no cost.
In 2007, Fête de la Musique crossed the Atlantic with the debut of Make Music New York.
Ever since cities around the world have been starting their own Make Music days.
Fête de la Musique and has grown into a global day of Music
now held on the same day in more than 1,000 cities in 120 countries.
Make Music day is very different from a music festival as it is open to anyone who wants to take part.
Every kind of musician — young and old, amateur and professional, every musical persuasion — pours onto streets, parks, plazas, and porches to share their music with friends, neighbors, and strangers.
Scheduled and free form is welcome. All of it is free and open to the public.
