We mourn the passing our good friend Joe.

Joseph Giurintano 76 of Villa St. Middletown, husband of the late Sebastiana (Nella) Giurintano, died peacefully on Friday, Jan. 4, 2013 at Water’s Edge Health Care. Born on April 17, 1936 in Melilli, Italy, son of the late Salvatore and Aurora (Marchese) Giurintano. He lived most of his life in Middletown,

A retired drywall installer of the carpenters local #24 union, a member of St. Sebastian Church, and the Middletown Italian Society. In his younger dayshe was an avid soccer player and also enjoyed watching soccer. Joseph enjoyed hunting, dancing and meeting his friends at the coffee shop every morning.

Joseph is survived by his loving family, two daughters Linda and husband John DeSena of Middletown, Christina Giurintano of Middletown, four sisters Tina Pitruzzello of Middletown, Nella Bruni of Portland, Vera Mazzotta of Middletown, Teresa Giurintano of Rocky Hill. The loves of his life were his 2 granddaughters Serina DeSena and Alexa DeSena also several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9 a.m. from the Coughlin-Lastrina Funeral Home 491 High St. Middletown followed by a mass of Christian burial in St. Sebastian Church. Burial will be in the family plot in St. Sebastian Cemetery Middlefield. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. The family would like to thank the staff of Water’s Edge Health Care and Dr. Farrell and staff at Connecticut Oncology group for all they did for their father. Those who wish may make memorial donations to M. S. Society Ct. Chapter 659 Tower Ave. 1st floor Hartford, CT.
