Glitter Monsters, Live Music & Fall Coffee at Klekolo

October brings a little glitter, a few monsters, and four nights of live music to Klekolo World Coffee.

This month, Sue Zola returns to our walls with an October-perfect collection, while Klekolo Sessions brings a different Connecticut and New England musician to the coffee house every Tuesday night.

Here’s what’s happening at Klekolo this October.

Artist Sue Zola pouring glitter while creating one of her glitter artworks

Sue Zola is back at Klekolo — and this time, she’s bringing monsters.

Just in time for October, Sue is filling our walls with monsters rendered in her unmistakable medium: glitter.

If you’ve seen Sue’s work at Klekolo before, you know this isn’t a polite little sprinkle of sparkle. Her art is bold, colorful, funny, nostalgic, a little rebellious, and nearly impossible to walk past without stopping for a closer look.

For October, that glitter gets a decidedly more monstrous twist — which seems pretty perfect for Klekolo this time of year.

And perhaps October is exactly where Sue belongs — she was born on Halloween.

We’re delighted to have Sue and her wonderfully sparkly creatures taking over the walls.

October Live Music Tuesdays

Klekolo Sessions brings live music to the coffee house every Tuesday from 7–9 PM.

Come grab a drink, find a seat, and spend an evening listening to some of the musicians who make Connecticut’s local music scene worth hearing.

October 6 — Lily Erin

Kicking off October is Lily Erin, an indie folk/pop and neo-folk musician originally from Worcester, Massachusetts, who recently relocated to the Hartford area. Her original music reflects on the many relationships we build throughout our lives — with other people, with our work, and with ourselves — bringing those experiences into a contemporary folk sound all her own.

Terri LaChance performing with acoustic guitar for Klekolo Sessions

October 13 — Terri LaChance

Terri LaChance is a Connecticut singer-songwriter and guitarist whose original music draws from relationships, life experiences, and the world around her. A longtime supporter of Connecticut’s local music scene, Terri has performed throughout the state and has been an active part of Middletown’s music community through The Buttonwood Tree.

Her songs mix personal storytelling with observations about life, connection, and social change — along with a few familiar covers when the moment calls for them.

Robi Polgar playing acoustic guitar for Klekolo World Coffee

October 20 — Robi Polgar

We’re very happy to welcome Robi Polgar back to Klekolo.

Now based in Glastonbury after many years in Austin, Texas, Robi brings decades of experience, sharp songwriting, rich harmonies, and a deep catalog of originals and covers. His music pulls from British Invasion, post-punk, classic American rock, and the singer-songwriters who know how to tell a really good story.

Think Elvis Costello meets Tom Petty in a smoky café. Think The Clash colliding with Paul Simon — acoustic, intimate, and unmistakably Robi.

He’s a storyteller, a musician’s musician, and one of those performers we’re always happy to see walk through the Klekolo door.

Shannon Mcmahon & Linda Foster with acoustic Guitars and singing

October 27 — Shannon McMahon with special guest Linda Foster

Closing out October, Shannon McMahon returns to Klekolo Sessions with her blend of contemporary folk, rich vocals, and heartfelt storytelling.

A longtime Connecticut singer-songwriter and a familiar face at Klekolo, Shannon brings warmth and intimacy to both her original music and the songs she makes her own. Her expressive voice has drawn comparisons to Joan Baez and Natalie Merchant, but after hearing Shannon here over the years, we think she has a sound that is very much her own.

We’re always happy to welcome her back.

Fall at the Coffee House

October is a good month to settle into a coffee house — especially when the walls are covered in glitter monsters and the menu gets a little witchy.

Along with the return of the Pumpkin Spice Latte, October brings some Klekolo favorites out of the spell book, including the Witches Brew, Irish Witch, and Warlock.

Come in for an October drink, spend some time with Sue Zola’s wonderfully monstrous glitter art, or join us on a Tuesday night for live music. Better yet, do all three.

You’ll find us at 181 Court Street in downtown Middletown, Connecticut.

See you at Klekolo.
